Performance Fiesta concept one of eight created by Ford for the SEMA tuning show next month

The firm will showcase eight customised Ford Fiesta concepts at the SEMA tuning convention in Las Vegas next month, including a Ford Racing-developed model that puts out 345bhp.

The Fiesta has been a hit with US customers since it went on sale earlier this year, helping to bring the brand to a younger audience. The SEMA concepts are designed to showcase just how customisable the five-door supermini can be.

The centrepiece of Ford’s SEMA stand will be the Ford Racing-developed model. This uses a 2.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine bored out to 2.3-litres and tuned to produce 345bhp.

It is also equipped with Ford Racing Performance Parts, including a short-throw gear lever, a new exhaust system with twin centre-mounted pipes, a larger rear wing, a front splitter and 17-inch alloy wheels. Other additional parts include larger Brembo brakes and Ohlins dual-flow dampers to boost both ride comfort and agility.

The concept, finished in Ford Racing blue, will be auctioned off after the show to help raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.

Other Fiesta concepts at SEMA include a model equipped with an iPad in the centre console and a model with aimed at the enthusiasts equipped with new springs, dampers, a strut brace and a short-throw gear lever.

SEMA runs at the Las Vegas Convention Centre between November 2-5.

Re: Ford Racing's 345bhp Fiesta

Now that would make a cracking Fiesta RS, especially as the Focus RS is on the way out.

Why bother?, it'll never come here cause it'll tread on the working boots of the Focus RS!.

Re: Ford Racing's 345bhp Fiesta

Hmmm, bored out to 2.3. Wonder does this engine bear a resemblance to the one in the Mazda 3 MPS. Being able to tune one to 345bhp would be nice (mines already at 320).
