I quite like it, but it looks big - need to see it against something to get an idea of proportion. But yet again rear visibility looks poor, though not Range Rover Evoque poor.

The majority of Hyundai and Kia products are decent right now - all the latest generation (so not the Rios etc) are pretty competitive in dynamics, build quality, fuel consumption and are very competitive on price. I think the next generation will be the sweet spot - like a Honda in the late 90s. Cheaper than the opposition, better in most ways and ultra reliable. I was pretty impressed with the I30 and very impressed with the latest Tucson. I think the styling of this is off though.

Re: New Kia Sportage launched in UK

Kia always do this, launch a model heavily loaded and then over time sneak the equipment down so the early ones are brilliant value. Our early Sportage XS has the same spec. as the next model up now. Our Caren was the same, loaded to the hilt then cut down in later versions.

Prefer the look of the Hyundai version but I can't persuade our lease provider that its a 2010 Hyundai with the same residual percentage as a Honda or Nissan - they seem to still think Hyundai means a 1973 Pony!
