New trim level added to compact SUV range; replaces SE model

Volkswagen has added its Match trim level to the Tiguan range.

The Volkswagen Tiguan Match replaces the SE model in the compact SUV’s range. Extra equipment on the Match over the SE includes park assist, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, climate control, a DAB digital radio and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.

The Match costs £250 more than the SE trim it replaces, but the extra equipment would cost £1745 if purchased separately.

Match trim is available with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines: 1.4-litre or 2.0-litre TSI petrol units are offered with 148bhp and 168bhp respectively, while two 2.0-litre TDI units are available, developing either 138 or 168bhp.

All four engines also have an optional seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The Tiguan Match is on-sale now in the UK from £22,110 for the 1.4-litre TSI BlueMotion.

That is still the case, the Match is always the fully loaded run-out model introduced 12-24 months before a replacement is due. Look at the recently replaced Polo and Golf for examples of this, and VW have also recently started offering the Touran in Match trim, with a replacement due out very soon.

Looks like your getting quite a lot for your money with all the extra equipment factored in.
