Zagato will show a new Alfa Romeo concept at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este

Italian coachbuilder Zagato has revealed the first picture of its Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa concept that will be revealed at this Friday’s Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

The car is the latest part of Alfa Romeo’s centenary celebrations; Pininfarina and Bertone both created their own Alfa concepts for the Geneva motor show last month and Alfa will also take centre stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Zagato says the concept is “not a design exercise” and has instead been created to commemorate the firms’ joint work over the past 90 years.

The TZ3 is a race car and is expected to share many of its components with the 8C Competizione, including that car's V8 engine. It features “a mono shell carbonfibre tubular chassis, coupled with a tubular frame and a lightweight aluminium body”.

The car has been commissioned by an unnamed German gentleman racing driver.

Re: New Alfa concept: first pic

The Bentley wasn't a one off, it was built in very low numbers but not a one off.

Re: New Alfa concept: first pic

The article mentions only shared components and engine from the 8C and not much else. Presumably like the Zagato Bentley it will remain a 'one-off' as it's been privately commissioned.

Re: New Alfa concept: first pic

It's not based on the 8C.
