Rugged looks for South American Citroen C3 Picasso spin-off

This is the Citroen AirCross, which is based on the Citroen C3 Picasso.

The car is being built in Brazil, and will be sold in South American markets from this summer.

The car is essentially a jacked up version of the C3 Picasso with off-road styling. Changes include a new front grille, rugged plastic mouldings on the sills, a rear-mounted spare tyre and graphics.

Another bit of news that is really relevant to the UK market !! I must remember this next time I consider buying a new car. Autocar should introduce a relevance filter.

how do ' rugged plastic mouldings ' help off road capability. or ' rough road ' as is more likely to be the case in most of s.america.

Such cars do seem to have a good demand there, I guess. Even FIAT makes/made the Palio Adventure in BRazil and India. That was a pretty nice looking estate in comparison to this one though.
