This is the latest picture of the Quant, a four-seat carbonfibre prototype that is powered by electric motors and entirely covered in a solar film.

The company says it will have a running prototype of the car, which is powered by four 150kW electric motors, by the end of this year and is hoping to put the car into production in 2012.

The car was originally unveiled at the Geneva motor showlast year as a joint project between NLV and Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg, but NLV, best known as a solar panel manufacturer, is now exhibiting the Quant as a standalone operation.

It was originally estimated the car will have the equivalent of 512bhp and 527lb ft, although no performance figures have been released for the new exhibit.
