Vauxhall/Opel to concept to demonstrate future environmental direction

Vauxhall/Opel will show a concept car that points to the company's "future environmental direction" at the Geneva motor show.

The car - teased in this picture - is described as "using green innovation and alternative propulsion" and Vauxhall says the concept "is proof that size and comfort do not need to be sacrificed for a vehicle to be environmentally efficient".

No other details have been released, but at a press conference announcing the company's restructuring earlier this week company boss Nick Reilly highlighted plans to develop spin-off models from the Voltec system that underpins the forthcoming Volt/Ampera.

In addition, the new Vauxhall Meriva, latest 76.3mpg/98g/km Vauxhall Corsa Ecoflex and Vauxhall Ampera will be on display.

It's bad enough that we have been on a promise with the Volt for what seems like a decade. Now we have son of Volt before it's Dad has even launched. Doesn't Vauxhall have any new metal in the pipe or something?

Re: Vauxhall's green concept car

Vauxhall and a lot of the mainstream manufacturers need a Green model in their line up! not that i would be considering it! the ultimate dullness of motoring which is really for people who do not find driving an experience, rather a thing that has to be done!
