This is the Zenvo ST1, a Danish supercar whose V8 engine produces more than 1100bhp - and it's coming to the UK.
Zenvo Automotive started development of the prototype version in 2004, with the brief of producing a “trackworthy supercar that would be also suitable for everyday use”.
The firm is keen to make the car as Danish as possible, with many components coming from local suppliers. All R&D and design has taken place in the country.
The ST1 is powered by a 7.0-litre V8 engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The supercharged and turbocharged unit has been tuned to produce 1104bhp and 1055lb ft of torque, while a hydraulic limited-slip differential also features. The engine has been designed to run on both petrol and E85 bio-ethanol.
It has an electronically limited top speed of 233mph and can get from 0-62mph in a claimed 3.0sec. It weighs 1376kg thanks to the use of a lightweight steel spaceframe, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 802bhp per tonne. The bodywork is made up of lightweight carbonfibre panels.
The St1 runs on 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, with specially designed Michelin tyres.
It has double-wishbone suspension all round, with adjustable anti-roll bars and three-way adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers.
Zenvo is keen to make the ST1 as comfortable as possible and has included a range of creature comforts, including climate control, sat-nav, a head-up display and cruise control. No fuel economy of CO2 emission figures have been released.
The car will be hand-built in Denmark, with production due to start later this year. Just 15 units will be produced for “specially approved customers”, with a price tag of 850,000 euro (£770,000).
A company spokesman told Autocar that the car would be available in the UK in right-hand drive and the company was currently in talks with several dealer networks about selling it.

Re: New 1100bhp Danish supercar
Well I personally think that- from the outside at least- it looks the nuts. Like most of you I'm unsure about the interior, but at the same time it hardly looks like a bad place to be! What bothers me is the power to weight ratio. Impressive though the numbers are, they will be utterly irrelevant if the thing can't put them onto the tarmac! I can see how the Veyron for example manages it as it has 4WD and has enough weight to drive the tyres into the tarmac, but 1376kg and -I presume- 2WD? Good luck with that one... I'd rather they forgot about big horsepower (not just this company, but others too) and set about grabbing headlines with innovative weight saving measures.

ST1 is the name of a classy gentleman's establishment in Stoke-on-Trent.

Yeah, knee-jerk cobblers.
I'd like to see the KSI stats for really high performance cars like this; I bet they are if anything lower than for cooking hatches in proportion to the number on the road.
