Ferrari will launch an open-top Spider version of its new 458 Italia within the next two years, according to reports from Italy.
Italian media have quoted Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo as saying work is already underway on the Spider model and it will follow the launch of the hard-top version next year.

“[Deliveries of the 458 Italia] will begin in the second half of January," Montezemolo said. "We also plan a spider version, but not for a couple of years."
The Italian firm launched the Ferrari 458 Italia at the Frankfurt motor show earlier this month and power will come from a 4.5-litre V8 engine.
It will produce 562bhp and it will be the highest-revving Ferrari road car ever. Extensive development work has been undertaken by seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher.

Re: Ferrari 458 Spider 'confirmed'
The 2-seater front-engined line has a tradition of soft-top variants too. The 599 convertible is apparently on the horizon, and of course the 550 and 575 both had their roadster derivatives. Before that, the line disappeared for a long time (during which a few other models such as the Mondial had drop-top options), but of course many of the classics such as the Daytona, 275 and 250 had cabrio variants.
Re: Ferrari 458 Spider 'confirmed'
Here is another amazing scoop. The will be a Scuderia model a couple of years after the Spider!
Re: Ferrari 458 Spider 'confirmed'
They do with this line of cars but not all.
ie. 348, 355, 360, 430 but not 599 etc.
