LMP1 car wins at the Nurburgring 1000km race

Aston Martin’s LMP1 entries dominated Germany’s ADAC’s 1000km race, at the Nurburgring, claiming a first, second and third places.

The victory marked 50 years since its first win at the event with the DBR1, in 1959.

Aston’s 007 car led the race from the start; its lead was so comfortable the team even had time to tweak the car’s rear aero-kit further increasing the advantage over its struggling competitors.

German driver Stefan Mucke took the chequered flag at his home race and posted the fastest lap of the race, with a 1min 44.1secs. British driver Darren Turner finished second in the 009 car.

Team Principal George Howard-Chappel: "The result is a tribute to the team, the drivers and the whole organisation."

Well done Aston!

Seconded. I'll be at Silverstone in 3 weeks to cheer them on. They'll have a good chance this year without the Peugeot 908's.
