Reiter Engineering officially launches its GT1-spec SV

A 2010 GT1-spec Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV has been officially launched by German race team Reiter Engineering.

Reiter confirmed last week it was working on a special-edition SV, and the car was launched at last weekend’s 24 Hours of Spa race meeting.

The Reiter Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT features a carbonfibre outer skin with improved aerodynamics over the standard SV. It is powered by a 6.5-litre V12, which produces 661bhp and 487lb ft of torque. It will feature a Magneti Marelli-designed FIA ECU to regulate the engine power under race conditions, however.

The GT1 SV is 4800mm long and 2058mm wide, while the total weight is 1150kg plus ballast to conform to the regulations.

The FIA will nominate six automobile brands to enter cars in next year’s GT1 championship and Reiter wants to be one of the chosen six.
