£5K off 2.0-litre coupe

Hyundai has dropped the base price of its 2.0-litre Coupe by £5035 to £12,995.

The 141bhp two-door is now £2600 less than the first generation car cost when it was launched in 1996.

This puts the car, which comes with leather, climate control, 17-inch alloys, twin exhausts, cruise control and heated front seats, in supermini territory.

The range-topping TSIII version of the Coupe gets a discount of £5220, so it costs £14,295, and is fitted with anthracite-finish alloys, quad exhaust tailpipes, a larger boot spoiler, quilted leather sports seats and Eibach sport springs.

Both cars are also available with a further £2000 off under the government’s scrappage scheme.
