Charity benefits from sale of cars decorated by Damien Hurst

Five Fiat 500s decorated by artist Damien Hirst have raised £440,000 for the ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) charity.

The customised Fiat 500s were donated by Fiat, with Hirst then giving the brightly painted cars butterfly designs.

The cars were raffled off in front of high-profile guests at a charity auction, including actress Uma Thurman and supermodel Eva Herzigova.

In total the charity event raised £15.6 million.

Arpad Busson, the charity Chairman, said: “I am immensely grateful to the Fiat Group and Damien Hirst for the unabated support and generosity to ARK. The five beautiful 500’s added stunning visual drama to our event and raised £440,000 for our programmes.”
