Crazy name for a crazy car

A Dutch firm has created both a motoring niche and possibly one of the longest car names in history.

The Bewerp Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS is claimed to be the world’s only four-door supercar and was recently unveiled at the Top Marques show in Monaco.

It is based on a Corvette C6 and is powered by a supercharged LS7 V8 with 661bhp at 6200 rpm and 538lb ft of torque at 4800 rpm.

Despite its considerable size, the Roadyacht reaches 60mph in a claimed 3.4 seconds and tops 205mph.

Little is known about its construction, but it is likely to be mostly aluminium and carbonfibre.

The doors fold up Lamborghini-style and entry is keyless via a bespoke wristwatch.

All the seats are adjustable and are heated, with the rear occupants benefiting from a champagne cooler.

Bewerp expects to start production in the second half of next year and will build 20 Roadyachts in total.
