These are the first official photos of the Lexus LF-A concept cars that will race in this weekend's Nurburgring 24 Hours - and you can also see spy video footage of the car testing at the track by following the link below.

Lexus has entered two of the cars, which continue to be at the centre of speculation as to whether they will ever make production, under the Gazoo Racing banner.

Gazoo is a Toyota-owned, e-commence website that, according to Lexus "aims to "create a new relationship between automobiles and people in the new IT era”.

The Lexus LF-A racers are powered by a 500bhp V10 and will be raced by a combination of Toyota race and test drivers and dealers.

In addition, Toyota's soon-to-be CEO Akio Toyoda will also drive one of the cars, under the pseudonym Morizo. The 52-year-old grandson of Toyota's founder has raced at the event for the past two years and one of his three co-drivers will be Andre Lotterer, former Jaguar F1 test driver.
