A unique Mini has been unveiled at the Design Museum in London.The car’s exterior has been designed by Alan Aldridge, who is best known for his work on album covers in the 1960s and ‘70s. He designed covers for some of the most famous albums of the age, including works by the Beatles, The Who and Elton John, as well as illustrating books such as ‘The Butterfly Ball’.The Mini Aldridge special is a modern take on an original Mini which received a similar paintjob back in 1965. Both cars use the same themes, with female-inspired designs on the passenger side and male-inspired designs on the driver’s side. The car was commissioned as a prelude to BMW’s celebrations of the Mini’s 50th birthday next year. The car is on display in ‘The Man With Kaleidoscope Eyes’ exhibition which runs at the Design Museum until January 2009.
