Alfa Romeo 8C designer moves to Ingolstadt

The man behind the look of the current generation of Alfa Romeos, Wolfgang Egger, has been confirmed as the new head of design at Audi.

The 44-year-old German succeeds Walter de’Silva, also ex-Alfa, who took over as head of design at Audi's parent company, Volkswagen Group, at the start of the month.

Egger began his career in 1989 as a designer at Alfa Romeo before joining Seat in 1998.

He then moved to Lancia in 2001 prior to completing the circle and being made head of design at Alfa Romeo, where he is credited with the gorgeous 8C.

In his new position, Egger will report to Audi brand design boss, Stefan Sielaff.
