Chevy’s gone all touring car: this bespoilered concept is both a pointer to its next-generation WTCC car and a way of showcasing its forthcoming diesel engine.
Painted in a very unstealthy ‘Stealth Blue’, the glassfibre and carbonfibre laminate body encloses an interior replete with rubberised black paint on the dash and tall touring car-style gearlever.
But the power source is a little more real-world: the 187bhp diesel that will be in next year’s Captiva SUV.
The car is a global effort - early design work took place in South Korea and the body is by a Coventry graduate who now works for GM Australia. Engineers in the US and Switzerland worked on the details – and the car was actually built in Japan.
