Ford: rest of PAG not for sale

Aston Martin might be for sale, but Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover are not – yet.

In a webcast to industry analysts Lewis Booth, head of Ford of Europe, said that “for the moment, Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover are not for sale.”

However, he added that “everything is on the table,” as Ford’s global losses continue to mount and the American car maker makes large cutbacks in its North American operations.

Although Land Rover is widely seen as a valuable asset, Jaguar has drained money from Ford in the past few years – losing £426m in 2004 and soaking up £1.2bn of investment in 2005.

Aston’s bespoke three-car range has few synergies with the rest of the Ford empire – unlike Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover, which use Ford engines and transmissions.
