The sportiest Sirion

Daihatsu has beefed up its top-specification Sirion to give us this SX special edition.

Priced from £9290 on the road, the SX adds a deep front spoiler and mesh grille, front fog lights, side skirts, rear spoiler and those essential side decals to the specification of the SE.

So the SX also packs a full complement of equipment, with alloys, air conditioning and electric windows all round.

Inside are a pod-shaped speedometer and revcounter, both of which move when the driver’s seat is adjusted.

Propulsion comes from the same 1.3-litre engine as in the SE, which got the SE to 60mph in 10.3 seconds in our Road Test. We managed a touring figure of 49mpg and the CO2 emissions are a lowly 137 g/km.

You can have your SX in Red, Silver Mist or this Black Mica.
