Mitsubishi has released images of the new L200 Warrior pick-up

Mitsubishi has released these first images of its new L200 pick-up in upmarket 'Warrior' guise, which along with its 'Animal' sibling has attracted a number of non-business buyers to the model.

The new L200 goes on sale on March 1, 2006 and from launch will be available in single, double or club cab versions with a new Euro-IV compliant 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine in stadard 136bhp or optional 160bhp forms. Mitsubishi promises a much-improved driving experience and there will be the option of automatic transmission for the first time, along with traction control and 'super-select' four-wheel drive on high-end models.

The cabin is also expected to be a lot more civilised than the utilitarian interior of the current car, which dominates the UK pick-up market.
