Renault launches Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Monaco special edition

Feeling the pinch from the forthcoming folding hardtop versions of the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, Renault has attempted to bring a touch of continental style to its drop-top Mégane range with the 'Monaco' special edition. Available to order now, the new edition offers £1835 worth of extras for a price increase of just £1000 over its equivalent Dynamique model.

Standard equipment for the 'Monaco' includes 17in alloy wheels, full leather upholstery, metallic paint and climate control. Completing the look is a dark carbon interior with satin chrome-coloured dashboard dials, handbrake and gearlever, and a choice of three engines: 134bhp 2.0-litre and 163bhp 2.0-litre turbo petrols, and a 128bhp 1.9-litre turbodiesel. Prices range from £19,720 for the 2.0-litre manual to £20,970.
