One of Britain’s most successful and durable engines, the Rover V8, has reached the end of the road. After 38 years in production and nearly a million built, the final V8 was assembled by Land Rover last week.
It is being phased out with the arrival of the new Discovery, which will use the Jaguar V8. The Rover V8 has powered generations of classic British cars, including MGs, TVRs, Morgans, and even an aeroplane.
