Currently reading: Legacy gets specced

Subaru has conjured up a new driver-focused Spec-B version of its Legacy saloon. The range-topping 147mph 3.0R model’s 242bhp six-cylinder boxer engine is complemented by a range of modifications.

Out goes the standard auto box, replaced by the Impreza STi’s six-speed manual. A torque-sensing rear limited-slip diff and Bilstein suspension should give a sharper turn-in, while 18-inch alloys shod with 215/45 tyres lend the Legacy Spec-B a menacing stance.

Subaru will unveil the car at next month’s Geneva show.
