BMW M3 CSL buyers are set to be kept waiting even longer to take delivery after spec changes for right-hand-drive models.
Fuming customers contacted Autocar after being told by dealers that cars will be delayed. Deliveries of BMW's super-coupé were meant to have started this week, after customers started to put down deposits for the £58,000 160mph car nearly a year ago. But dealers have been citing problems with the brightness of rear tail lamps for the US and British cars.
However, BMW GB is denying that right-hand drivers are being stalled by rear-light problems. "We've had a spec change adding headlamp wash-wipe, but any cars already landed will have the work done in the UK. Customers shouldn't be inconvenienced," said a spokesman.
Anyone with some cash down on a face-lifted Fiat Barchetta is also in for a longer wait than expected.
British buyers for the £10,995 left-hand-drive-only roadster were due to get their hands on the keys in October. But dealers are now telling customers that it's going to be at least December before they get one. Fiat is blaming excess demand in Europe for holding up UK deliveries.
