Roof can be painted in a different colour to the Audi A1's body

The new Audi A1 will be available with a roof painted in a different colour to the body when it goes on sale later this year. The car’s exterior designer, Jürgen Löffler, said that the “contrasting roof arch traces the roofline of the A1.” Buyers will be able to order the roof in what Audi described as “a variety of colours, regardless of the body colour of the car.”

Audi will unveil the A1 at the beginning of February, followed by its launch at the Geneva motor show in March.

The car has been created to give Audi a rival for the likes of the Mini and the Alfa Romeo Mito.

I think you guys are being a little harsh; this is possibly the most significant story broken here for at least 18 months.

Even more later than the latest news! This new idea will be adopted within the whole of the vw group of cars, so Bentley and Lamborghini will also adopt different roofs from their bodywork colour for their cars! Just a sec, so sorry, news just coming in now, Bentley and Lamborghini are actually making their own versions of this car using the same Polo underpinnings, Bentley will call their version Gosling and Lambo' Duckling to compete with the Aston Martin Cygnet. What a shame MINI your heritage has just been copied again by another competitor without their own ideas or imagination.
