Mazda has unveiled its facelifted 2 supermini at the Paris motor show.
The front styling has been given Mazda’s new ‘family face’, including a new front grille and fog light surrounds, while the interior has also been upgraded.

All engines in the Mazda 2 line-up have been made Euro 5 compliant and a new automatic version has been introduced into the range.
Changes have also been made to the 2’s chassis to boost ride comfort.
Also on Mazda’s Paris show stand is its new 5 MPV, complete with its new 113bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine. This unit is 15 per cent more frugal than Mazda’s previous 2.0-litre diesel engine and is mated to a new lightweight six-speed manual gearbox.
The MZ-CD 1.6 diesel engine has been upgraded in the Mazda 3 to offer 6bhp more power and 12 per cent more torque, while also improving fuel consumption and lowering CO2 emissions.

Agreed! You hardly see any of them on the road.
Given it's the same car under the skin as a mega-selling Fiesta (and arguably better looking - I did say arguably!), and it perplexes me more of them are not sold.
Are they built in the same factory? I know they are in Asia (they are built together in Thailand) but I am not sure about Europe - Autocar rarely mentions where vehicles are built.

I feel sorry for the Mazda 2 its always been left out of the spot light thanks to the Fiesta, I actually prefer the Mazda to the Ford. Looks nicer and feels a little but more youthful and fresh, must be all those granny's driving around in Fiesta's. Just hope the interior is better !
