Ford has confirmed the launch of a new "exciting performance model" of its new Focus for Paris

Ford has confirmed it will launch an "exciting performance model" of its new Focus at the Paris motor show next month.

The concept is expected to showcase the styling of the forthcoming front-drive Ford Focus ST and is tipped to be powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing around 250bhp.

Last week, Ford confirmed the 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine used in the current ST and RS models would be discontinued as it would no longer comply with forthcoming Euro 5 emissions regualtions.

Ford’s Derrick Kuzak confirmed earlier this year there would be a “global performance model” of the new Focus and confirmed the car would get the firm’s new Ecoboost technology, promising it would be “exciting to drive and great to look at”.
