GM UK has officially confirmed that it will begin official UK imports of Chevrolet’s American muscle coupé, the Camaro, in the first half of 2011.
The first official UK model is on display at the Goodwood Moving Motor Show today.
The Camaro will only be available in the UK with the range-topping 6.2-litre V8 engine, which produces 426bhp. It can get from 0-60mph in less than 5.0sec and reach a top speed limited to 155mph.
Full UK specs will be announced nearer the car's on sale date, but Chevrolet has confirmed the car will come with a full UK warranty. Potential buyers can register their interest on Chevrolet's official website.

Re: GM to import Chevy Camaro
You must be mistaken......
The best colour is in fact Tor Red.
If it comes over here, and my bank balance is sufficiently healthy, I'll take one in Tor Red :-)

Re: GM to import Chevy Camaro
American brands don't sell very well in Europe because the competition is better or perceived as being better. Cadillac for example will always struggle because of the superior refinement you get from Mercedes and Co. The BLS was a disaster because they took a SAAB 9-3 and badge-engineered it. The problem wasn't because of the donor car but the fact that Cadillac = big, brash, RWD and powerful, of which the BLS was completely the opposite.
The Camaro on the other hand has had 3 years of marketing in 2 Transformers films, Every kid and Grown up who loved the films pretty much want the car. It's a real American Muscle Car, including the V8 and the Camaro is still one of the biggest globally recognised vehicles that GM has. The other being the Trans-Am Firebird (aka KITT from Knight-rider). I think the new Camaro has a good chance of selling on a global scale.
Maybe GM want to see how sales will go first and if the LHD version goes well, then they'll build it RHD? The problem lies that it will cost a few tens of Millions as the car has to go through all the same tests again. I understand the reasoning for not making RHD just don't agree with it.
The simple cliche of "If you're going to do a job, then do it right." seems to have gone out the window. The Camaro is the first and only Muscle Car I actually want to drive and own but it'll be compromised and that's a real shame.
