The 2013 Chevrolet Traverse has been revealed at the New York motor show. The eight-seat crossover’s new front-end styling introduces a new design which will be rolled out across all Chevrolet crossovers.
The new grille arrangement gives a softer and more premium look which is less bold and angular than that of the model it replaces.
“We have injected a stronger presence into the Traverse exterior by focusing on the details,†said Phillip Zak, GM director of exterior design. “The small but important changes give it a more vibrant personality that more closely reflects the lifestyles of the families who rely on the Traverse to get them through their busy lives.â€
Chevrolet claims the Traverse has the most interior space in its class. Revisions for 2013 see the adoption of more soft-touch surfaces and a new centre console with a 6.5in screen. Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system is offered. The system offers the ability to stream audio through Bluetooth-equipped devices.
Rebound springs in the front suspension are said to improve roll control and revised shock absorbers will deliver a smoother low-speed ride.
A front centre airbag is fitted, which is designed to protect the driver or front seat passenger in the event of a side impact where the affected occupant is on the non-struck side of the vehicle. The airbag deploys from the inbound side of the driver’s seat between the front seats.
