Dany Bahar's suspension from Lotus is related to an investigation into expenses, according to a reports.
A Lotus spokesman refused to confirm or deny this report when contacted by Autocar, but the Sunday Telegraph claimed his suspension was related to a dispute regarding building work at one of two homes that was rented on his behalf in Norfolk.
Bahar and Lotus are currently in dispute with a self-employed builder in regard to an unpaid bill of £92,845 for work done on one of his homes.
DRB-Hicom, which bought Proton and Lotus in January, announced last week that it was suspending Bahar, pending an investigation.
At the time, a Lotus spokesman stressed to Autocar that the door was open for Bahar to return to the helm of the company if he was cleared of any wrong-doing. It was also confirmed that only Bahar has been suspended in relation to the investigation.
Bahar joined Lotus from Ferrari in 2009.

Chapman would be so proud of Dany The Didler!
Previous Employment
For his own sake, should he maybe have stayed with Ferrari?
For Lotus' benefit, is he really the only driving force behind 5 versions of Lotus?
hmm...
I really hope this isnt just a way of getting rid of him, Lotus could really do with some good news for a change.
