Radical has revealed its new entry-level model, the SR1, claiming it to be untouchable for speed and track day ability at its price point

Radical has announced its new model, the Radical SR1, which is designed for track day drivers and club racers. The SR1 has been conceived to provide an entry-level model to compete in sports prototype competitions.

The SR1 has been developed by the same design team that created the Radical SR-9 LMP2 racecar, and mirrors the design of current prototype racers.

The two-seat SR1 is powered by the 210bhp, RPE-Suzuki four-cylinder engine which has proved reliable and potent in other Radical models.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox. A Quaife ATB differential and 240mm ventilated discs and four-pot calipers are fitted as standard.

The SR1’s safety cell and deformable crash structure conforms to FIA standards, and race-spec harnesses and an integral fire extinguisher are fitted. Radical-specific Dunlop slick, wet and road tyres are offered.

The new model is priced at £29,850+VAT.
