The 2014 facelifted BMW M5 has been spotted testing for the first time, showing the cosmetic changes which will bring the supersaloon in-line with the rest of the forthcoming, revised 5-series range.
Our spy shots show the revised M5 will feature resculpted headlights and a slightly slimmer interpretation of the iconic kidney grille. The 2014 model year revisions also include new rear lights and a lightly modified rear bumper.
The external changes are far less extensive than those applied to the Mercedes E63 AMG recently.
The new M5 will borrow the latest iteration of BMW’s iDrive multimedia system from the 7-series.
BMW has not revealed any changes to the specification of the F10 M5’s engine. However the 550i, which shares its basic engine with the M5, is in line for a power boost, taking total output to around 450bhp.

E63AMG any day of the week
I respect the F10 M5 but I truely admire the E63AMG, there's a difference. It has all the character you could wish for, combined with more performance than you could ever need. It's all the more desirable because it now comes in such a handsome, discrete, well built package - not always the case with Mercs. The estate would be the ultimate Q-car; stealthy, but more than capable of scaring the family Labrador witless. But don't try this at home kids. Dogs are for life, not just for Christmas...
I've always liked the M5....
But M6 just pips it on looks for me.
X Drive?
As a C63 owner I would take the E63 'S' 4Matic over this but it still looks good and stealthy as Peter C says.Unless it comes with 4WD it will miss the boat,AMG have really moved things on with 4Matic,needed to put down all that torque, can't wait for the new C?? AMG.

The E63AMG also sounds much better than the M5, and like you say, the 'S' models come with 4MATIC and boast frankly astonishing acceleration figures. You can even get it as an estate. The M5 wouldn't even get a look-in from me!
