British sports car manufacturer Noble Automotive shows off concept image of an M600 with a removable roof

Noble Automotive has released an image showing what an Noble M600 roadster could look like.

The illustration, which was first seen in June last year, has been released again to ascertain public response to the model.

Peter Boutwood, managing direct or Noble, said "We haven't built or tested one, but it is a feasible project."

The M600 roadster would utilise a removable roof panel, made of lightweight carbonfibre. When removed, it would be stowed in the M600's engine bay, in order to prevent it reducing the available interior or passenger space.

Removing the roof panel would have no affect on the M600's handling capabilities, as the roof panel isn't structural. Boutwood added "It's not about how it looks, it's about how it goes and drives. We would never compromise the car".

A roadster version of the M600 would be mechanically identical to the standard M600 coupé, which is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. Power output of the current M600 is rated at 650bhp and 604lb ft, all of which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

The Noble M600 utilises a stainless steel and aluminium chassis, clad in carbonfibre body panels, resulting in a weight of 1198kg. Its low weight, in conjunction with its twin-turbo V8, allows it to sprint from 0-120mph in just 8.9sec.

Noble currently builds between 12 and 15 M600s a year, each with a UK price tag of approximately £230,000.

Does anyone know what is

Does anyone know what is happening with the other Noble car company, the one actually owned by Lee Noble?

Wow!

As a mere enthusiast (due to my "pauper" status!), this car clearly isn't aimed at me but, by god, this thing looks fabulous, and has gone straight to the top of my Euromillions win shopping list.

Noble really need to make this - it would brighten my day no end just to see one of these on the roads.
