A new high-performance Caterham road car concept will be previewed at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix

Caterham has teased an all-new concept car, which will be unveiled in full during the Singapore grand prix later this month.

The silhouette of the new concept, which is claimed to be a road-legal car, will feature on the side of Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde’s Caterham F1 race car at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

Caterham describes the concept as a “new, ultra-high performance model”, the first to be designed and developed with “significant input” from all of Caterham’s specialist divisions: Caterham Technology & Innovation, Caterham Composites and Caterham F1 Team.

The firm has, however, ruled out the possibility that the new sports car is the Renault-Alpine co-developed model, which is slated for launch in early 2016.
