The Jaguar C-X17 SUV has been on display at the Brussels motor show.
The concept appeared at the show in a new colur, dubbed Italian Racing Red. Orginally designed to show off Jaguar's new iQ[Al] vehicle platform, which the company will use to kick-start the most ambitous model expansion programme in its history. The C-X17 concept was officially revealed at the Frankfurt motor show last year.
Powered by a supercharged engine from the Jaguar XK, the four-wheel-drive concept has been shown in various forms throughout the world, including as a special five-seat variant at the Guangzhou motor show in China late last year.
Officially the C-X17 remains a 'concept', but Jaguar is continuing development of its production SUV, with latest pictures showing an engineering mule testing using a modified XF body. The production model is due in 2016, and will sit on the C-X17's iQ[Al] platform.
Rear-wheel drive will be standard on the SUV, with four-wheel drive available as an option. The model will be powered by a range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, with a supercharged V8 option likely to be offered as well.
