Toyota hybrid sales passed six million units worldwide at the end of December, nine months after passing the five million unit landmark. Toyota plans to launch 15 new hybrids over the next two years as it continues to develop the product range and the number of markets hybrid models are available in.
Audi has launched a high-security version of the Audi A8 that meets the toughest security criteria for a civilian vehicle. The A8 L Security comes with either a 429bhp 4.0-litre V8 or a 493bhp W12 engine, and can withstand small-arms gunfire. Options include an Audi-patented emergency exit system, emergency fresh-air system and remote security start.
General Motors swept the board at the 2014 North American Car and Truck of the Year awards, as the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Chevrolet Silverado won their respective categories. A jury of 49 automotive journalists from the United States and Canada voted the Corvette Stingray car of the year ahead of the Mazda 3 and Cadillac CTS, whilst the Silverado was voted truck/pickup of the year, beating the Jeep Cherokee and Acura MDX to the top of the podium.
Chrysler has announced a £10k price cut on the 300C. The executive saloon comes with a 3.0-litre V6 that does 39.8mpg on a combined cycle. Sales figures for the 300C fell by 18 per cent in 2013, but the price cut means that the saloon offers competitive size, standard equipment and performance for around £10,000 less than its German rivals.

Sixteen years and six million sales later, it would be interesting to hear these nay-sayers admit publicly that they're suffering from a type of malady known as myopia. More importantly the rest of the world has joined the hybrid bandwagon.

They have until recently had
The last 300c sold well in the UK, but cost £25k to £30k. Fiat thought they could sell them for an Extra £10k. I think this proves they cant.
At £30k with all the kit its pretty good value, but it really needs the 8 speed box they get on the petrols in the states, instead of the old 5 speed unit
