A bespoke Ferrari based on the F12 Berlinetta starred at the Ferrari Cavalcade in Sicily at the weekend.
The Ferrari F12 TRS was developed by Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Style Centre team at the request of a Maranello client, who has not been named.
The car was conceived as an extreme, two-seater, open-top sports barchetta and is inspired by classic Ferrari designs of the 1950s, including the 250 Testa Rossa of 1957. The ‘TRS’ name pays tribute to 'Testa Rossa'.
The F12 TRS retains the performance characteristics of the front-engined F12 Berlinetta, meaning it features a 6.3-litre V12 and can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.1sec.
The most significant exterior change is the absence of a roof, and the aggressively sculpted front end. The rear design features an evolution of the T-shape that characterises the F12 Berlinetta’s truncated tail and is influenced by the cabin shape, with long fuselage fairings running behind the headrests into the rear spoiler.
Another change to the F12 Berlinetta is the window in the bonnet that exposes the engine’s red cylinder heads, a concept inspired by both the front-engined sports cars of the 1950s and the more recent mid-engined Ferraris.
Inside, several components such as the glove box, central air vents, audio system, window controls, cubby-holes and floor mats have been removed to create a pared-back feel. The exterior and interior features a multi-layer red paint developed specifically for the car.
The Ferrari Cavalcade is an annual driving tour of scenic Italy for Maranello’s most exclusive clients. Ninety Ferraris took part in this year’s event.
