Chinese firm GAC has revealed its new GS4 compact SUV at the Detroit motor show.
The new model, which GAC says will "set a new benchmark for Chinese cars", offers conventional styling but comes with rugged cladding around its lower body.
GAC says the GS4 will only be available with one engine, a 1.3-litre turbocharged unit which offers "remarkable driving power and excellent fuel economy".
A leather-trim features inside, as well as an infotainment screen and multi-function steering wheel. GAC says the cabin of the GS4 can offer passengers "a comfortable and stress-free ride".
GAC is also using the Detroit motor show to reaffirm its ambitions to compete in the global market. The Chinese manufacturer says its own-brand vehicles "are now on par with global rivals" and has made no secret of its desires to enter big-budget markets like the US and Europe.
GAC is said to be targeting late 2017 for its entry into the US market.
