Land Rover's Discovery Sport is still the most popular review on autocar.co.uk this week

Land Rover's Discovery Sport is still headlining our list of the most viewed reviews on autocar.co.uk for the week ending 14 August. Read below to find out what joined it in the top five.

1 - Land Rover Discovery Sport TD4 180

The latest variant of the Land Rover Discovery Sport is still headlining our most popular reviews, after going live more than two weeks ago.

It's hardly a surprise Land Rover's replacement for the Freelander is proving so popular among readers. The Discovery Sport is an extension of the Land Rover family and is fighting in one of the most competitive classes that includes Audi's Audi Q5 and the BMW X3.

This model is powered by the car manufacturer's latest Euro6-compliant Ingenium 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine, which improives on the 2.2-litre oil burner in every aspect.

2 - Jeep Renegade

The American car firm's compact crossover is proving a huge hit among Autocar's online contingent, appearing on our top five list for the third week in a row and climbing up to second place in the rankings.

After parent company Fiat Chrysler launched the Fiat 500X, Jeep decided to follow up with its own compact crossover. The Renegade may not be the most popular car in its segment and you'll do well to spot one on UK roads. However, variety is the spice of life and the Renegade has no small amount of charm.

3 - BMW 3 Series (2015)

BMW's revised 3 Series makes its debut on our top five reviews list after going live almost a month ago.

The compact executive class is experiencing a flourishing period in 2015, with Jaguar's all-new Jaguar XE saloon and the new Audi A4 saloon launching this year, and Mercedes-Benz in the process of refreshing its Mercedes-Benz C-Class, too.

To combat this, BMW has applied a very mild nip-tuck facelift to its big-selling 3 Series, but crucially, the big changes are underneath. It gets a more efficient range of petrol and diesel engines and suspension tweaks in a bid to make it a sharper drive, as well as an updated interior.

4 - Audi A4 (2015)

Another debutant on our breakdown of the most popular reviews and further example of how fiercely competitive the compact executive segment is.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport
The new Land Rover Discovery Sport is the successor to the Freelander

The Freelander's replacement goes big on prettiness and packaging, and as a result becomes the class leader

Audi's outgoing A4 saloon sold by the bucket load here in the UK, despite our highly experienced team of road testers awarding it just three-and-a half stars. The premium German manufacturer promises this new fifth-generation A4 is roomier, cleaner, more involving to drive and dynamically superior to its predecessor, so it could be even more successful for the firm.

5 - Jaguar XE S

The third compact executive saloon to round-off our top five reviews list demonstrates just how popular the class is among autocar.co.uk readers.

When we reviewed the Jaguar XE in 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol 197bhp and 237bhp forms earlier this year, we came away more than impressed and celebrated its class-leading handling and competitive performance.

This range-topping version (for now) of the XE gets shoehorned with Jaguar's 3.0-litre supercharged V6 motor from the entry-level Jaguar F-Type, which pumps out a healthy 335bhp and 332lb ft of torque.
