KTM has revealed a new limited-run version of its KTM X-Bow sports car, which gains power and sheds weight with the fitment of an uprated engine and all-carbonfibre bodywork.
Like the GT model on which it is based, the Black Edition is powered by an Audi-sourced 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, in the new model it produces 316bhp, sending drive rearwards through a new quick-shifting manual gearbox.
KTM has also swapped the GT's composite skin for lighter carbonfibre bodywork, which is visible through a thin layer of clear matt lacquer. It's also fitted a carbon underfloor and new five-bolt forged racing wheels to keep unsprung mass down.
Exactly how much weight has been saved is yet to be revealed by KTM, but there’s little doubt the diet and a more potent engine will enable the Black Edition to accelerate from 0-62mph in close to three seconds.
Inside, the car gets bespoke finishes, including new Black Edition seat trim and a numbered plaque to signify its build number.
Just 10 models will be produced, priced from €99,000 excluding taxes (about £92,000 including tax). All Black Editions will be hand-built in Austria; buyers will also get a free tour of the factory and some branded clothing.
