Jaguar has expanded its Connected Car Vision by offering its customers with Android smartphones the ability to control some of their car’s functions via a smartwatch.
Adding to the British manufacturer’s current Apple Watch technology, the new Android Wear app will reach more customers, offering them the ability to remotely control some of their vehicle's functions.
The App allows customers to remotely turn their cars on, activate the climate control to cool the car down before getting in, check how much fuel is in the car and check whether the doors are locked.
The app will even find your car if you’ve forgotten where you’ve parked it, such as in a busy car park.
The new Android Wear watch App will be made available on all future Jaguar and Land Rover models, as well as previous models fitted with InControl Remote or InControl Protect.
The app was launched at London’s Wearable Technology Show, but it won’t be available for download until the summer.
Jaguar Land Rover’s head of product marketing Leon Hurst said: "This expansion of connectivity brings all the functionality of our Apple Watch app to Android devices and underlines Jaguar Land Rover's dedication to its Connected Car Vision."
