This special drag race pitches the electric motor against the internal combustion engine.
The electric all-wheel drive Tesla Model S P85D in 'Insane' mode has two electric motors that produce 682bhp and 687lb ft of instantly available torque. A foregone conclusion? Think again.
The rear-wheel drive McLaren 650S Spider is powered by a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 with 641bhp, it has launch control, and it's lighter than the Tesla. Watch the video to see what car wins.

ONE trick pony
When it comes to performance Tesla is a one trick pony. It's all about initial acceleration and nothing more. Even average performance sedans and copes such as M3 will after a short while pass the Tesla and KEEP going while the Tesla will overheat and go into limp mode. And then it has to wait 30 minutes to charge it's batteries.
Tired of all excuses Tesla fans make for this over priced EV. There is never even the tiniest criticisms of this car, the company or it's founder, from these fanatic fans. That right there tells you it's an extremist cult.
And diesel
Petrol power will prevail
