Jean-Philippe Imparato assumes lead of Peugeot in PSA board shake-up; new Services Mobility Department gets it first leader in the process

Peugeot boss Maxime Picat has been appointed PSA's new boss of Europe, leaving ex vice president of PSA retail Jean-Philippe Imparato to take up the sub-brand's head role.

Maxime departs Peugeot after four years in the role, and will now be resposible for all three of PSA's brands - PeugeotCitroën and DS - in his new Europe-focused job.

Maxime's move comes as part of a PSA board shuffle, in which ex vice president for China and South East Asia Grégoire Olivier has been appointed as head of PSA's Mobility Services Department.

The changes are related to PSA’s so-called Push to Pass strategy, which includes plans to strenghten PSA's sharing and hiring based services through the Mobility Services Department, to compete with the likes of BMW and its DriveNow car hire service.

PSA’s investment in Mobility Services comes at a time when it is showing growth following a tough few years. Profits in the first quarter of 2016 totalled £1.09bn, which is almost £200 million higher than the same period in 2015 , illustrating the progress the company has made since Chinese car maker Dongfeng and the French government had to bail it out of financial difficulties in 2014.
