The styling of the new Yaris, called Vitz in its home market, looks to be largely unchanged from the outgoing model, but it now adopts the Aygo's X motif across its face, although the rear lights are extended horizontally when compared with the current model.

The video also confirms that the car will continue to be offered in both three and five-door formats; the previously revealed performance variant will be a three-door.
The text accompanying the video also confirms that the model will continue to offer a hybrid powertrain option; it's currently the only hybrid supermini on the market. It's claimed by Toyota to achieve 97.1mpg - almost 20mpg up on the Suzuki Swift hybrid also recently revealed in Japan. It's not yet confirmed if the Yaris will get a plug-in hybrid option like its Prius sibling, though.
A separate video confirms that the new car is 3945mm long, 1695mm wide and 1500mm high - making it 20mm longer and 10mm lower than the current car - and has a wheelbase of 2510mm. The new Yaris is also said to weigh 1010kg in petrol-engined form and 1110kg in hybrid form, making it 30kg and 40kg lighter respectively than before.
