Advanced Propulsion Centre UK
Formed in 2013, the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) supports the transition to a net zeroautomotive supply chain, in the UK.
Funded by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the APC collaborates withgovernment, industry, and academia to accelerate the industrialisation of technologies,supporting the transition to deliver zero emission vehicles.
Key to economic growth, our mission is to use knowledge and insight to sustain and grow long-term automotive capability and investment in the UK; building a strong economy through thedelivery of safer, smarter, more sustainable, and affordable mobility.Since its foundation in 2013, APC has funded 302 low-carbon projects involving 529 partners,working with companies of all sizes, and will have helped to create or safeguard over 59,000jobs in the UK. The technologies developed in these projects are projected to save over 425million tonnes of CO2.
With its deep sector expertise, and cutting-edge knowledge of new propulsion technologies,APC helps projects start more quickly and deliver increased value. In the longer term, its work todrive innovation and encourage collaboration is building the foundations for a successful andsustainable UK automotive industry.
