All-new Mazda CX-5 confirmed for LA motor show debut

The next-generation Mazda CX-5 will make its world debut at the LA motor show next month.

Only one image previewing the car’s exterior has been released, but visible design features, such as the pinched headlight and a lengthy bonnet suggest the CX-5’s look will take influence from Mazda’s larger CX-9 SUV.

The outgoing CX-5’s 2.0 petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are likely to be retained, with small gains in performance and reductions in CO2 output. Pricing will also stay close to that of the current-generation crossover, which’s starts at £23,195 in Britain.

When it arrives, the 2017 car will be a rival to the Nissan Qashqai and Honda CR-V.

More information will be released when Mazda pulls the covers off its all-new CX-5 in Los Angeles on the 16 November.
