New Land Rover 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition gets sportier interior and exterior styling

Land Rover has revealed this limited edition Sport version of its recently facelifted Freelander 2.

The exterior gets a new black finish to the front grille and a body styling pack that includes a rear spoiler and changes to the front corners. New 19-inch Shadow Chrome alloys are added, as are body-coloured door handles and mirror caps and rear privacy glass.

Three exterior colour choices are offered: Fuji White, Santorini Black and the new Firenze Red from the Range Rover Evoque.

Interior options include Ebony Windsor or Ebony Napoli leather with contrasting stitching, a piano black finish for the centre console and new carpet mats. Front and rear parking sensors are standard.

Power comes from a 187bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel mated to an automatic gearbox. It can get from 0-60mph in 8.7sec and reach a top speed of 118mph. The Sport model also features an ‘Intelligent Power Management System’ that charges the battery by recovering energy lost under braking. CO2 emissions are rated at 185g/km.

The Freelander special will reach UK showrooms early next year, priced from £33,945.

No wonder there is a waiting list for the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage

Agreed - seems very expensive to me; maybe best to wait a year or so and get a low mileage used one.
