The British manufacturer's new Design Prototype 100 is the latest virtual concept to be created for the Gran Turismo computer game

Aston Martin will unveil a new virtual concept car inspired by the Gran Turismo 6 computer game at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday.

The car, named DP-100, which stands for Design Prototype 100, has been developed in-house by the design team at Aston Martin, under the guidance of design director Marek Reichman.

Aston describes the DP-100 as a "virtual-only GT racer" that will be available for Gran Turismo gamers on Sony's PlayStation 3 console to download in July 2014.

The DP-100 joins the stable of Vision GT racers designed from Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, Volkswagen, Nissan and Ford specifically for the Gran Turismo PlayStation 3 game.
