Upcoming hot GLA previewed by new concept, expected to go on sale in the spring

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG has been given a thinly-veiled preview with a concept car at the LA motor show.

The Concept GLA45 AMG uses the same all-wheel drive drivetrain as the A45 AMG and CLA45 AMG, meaning a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 335bhp and 332lb ft of torque sends drive through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A 0-62mph time of “under five seconds” is claimed.

A production model of the same name is expected to follow soon after this concept, and go on sale in the UK in the spring. The car has previously been spotted testing

A bodykit, lowered sports chassis, beefed-up brakes, sports exhaust with twin tip pipes, 21in alloys and bespoke trim inside and out are among the changes over on the standard GLA on which the concept is based.

Why the Naff decals...

...why mercedes keep insisting on putting naff decals on the A-class variants i have no idea.. the car pretty good, but those stickers! Really! I think this is a dakar car in the making..obviously with a suspension lift and proper off road tyres!.... In fact I think thye should enter the WRC with the A45 AMG
